JWFAN.NET Status

I'm happy that we can meet up here and post. For now, that suits me fine.

As for Jack... don't know the man so I won't comment.

It's his lack of communication which annoys Ricard, Jason and Andreas most. Financial hardship is understandable and forgivable. Horrible communication by way of a complete lack of effort on Jack's part, is not.

This place only loads roughly 80% of the time for me, so I'm bothering less and less with it.

Strange, it works perfectly fine for me.

Yeah it's weird and it pisses me off. Most of the time it just won't load at all, other times it'll load half the page and just hang there, unresponsive. You know me Karol, I post all the time. I'm only posting now because it's loading up for once.

Slamming Jack on this board accomplishes nothing. We just gotta be patient and wait for him to do his thing.

And yes, it was dumb that the ONLY place the data was stored seems to be on 1&1s servers that we lose access to if a bill isn't paid. Going forward, I want daily backups stored at different locations so we never lose anything.

Then please write to 1&1 servers and explain the situation. Just to make sure if the worst happens and Jack doesn't give a shit the website won't get deleted.
If you don't want to write them i will do it myself. The website is far to valuable to risk losing it.

If we write them our situation and tell them we would pay the bills just to get the site back online and to get the passwords for accessing the data we won't be in the hands of Jack who may or may not destroy the website.

It makes no sense that he doesn't answer you even though you offered him the money to pay for the webhosting bills of JWFAN.



And for the record, please accept my offer to save the website data once recovered on external hardrives (regardless if you save it yourself too).

I don't think 1&1 would just give one of their customer's data to some other person who emails them and says the data is really theirs. I'll be in contact with you regarding backups once we get our new system up and running

to not delete the whole website on their servers.

So contacting them is in my opinion necessary to at least prevent deletion of the website. We don't want to lose 9 years of documented film music history

Honestly when ever the old board is back up I would say keep this one up and going, as a just in case type deal. Sort of like a contingency board, if the other happens to go down for a lengthy period of time for what ever reason. I mean I know Andreas and Ricard won't let it go down unless it's for maintenance but it still wouldn't hurt to have this as a back up.

This board isn't going anywhere. Andreas meant that the posts here won't be merged with the original message board once we all go back there. Makes no sense to get rid of this one since it's free and my creation :p

and a good place to come when servers updates shut down the site for a day or two...

better than the fms forums or facebook as we used in the past.

I never write a message/PM that I create a backup from jwfan.net/com.
Transfer the complete website to the new admin and webhoster Jack!
When I am host a website, I create backups for technical problems or
other problems. But never when someone else are the new webhostet.
A real shame when we lost the complete website, but this is not my fault.

No, it's not your fault Andreas. You've done so much for JWFanNet. I don't think that someone thinks you've done something wrong.

The only thing that is wrong, is that Jack doesn't communicate.
And since he is active on FB, "not to have the time for it" is not an argument.

This was his status 6 hours ago:

Maybe a couple of us could offer to contribute a small amount towards Jack's bill. I'm not exactly keen on the idea, but if it's literally the only way we can get JWFAN back then I see no other option...
