I happen to think exactly the opposite. It's the use of the main theme within the score what saves the March from mediocrity. "Definately".Lucas, prepare to die! wrote:it definately raises the overall score quality...
LOL what kind of ridiculous comparison is that???Lucas, prepare to die! wrote:its like saying raiders is and excellent score but the march is meh, ricard.

I don't think it'll be that frantic. I've never seen 1941 on a Holy Grail list, not even on this MB.

Yeah, but then again I wouldn't imagine Commando being a holy grail either. What a horrible score this is.

Sometimes with Williams' limited titles is hard to predict a fast sell-out or not.
Several Williams' Varèse Club titles got years before selling out (except for Heartbeeps) and Family Plot is still there for everyone. LLL's Home Alone (limited at 3500) is still in stock. Intrada's Monsignor (limited at 3000) has been available for almost 3 years.
However, SpaceCamp went sold-out in 24 hours, as well as LLL' reissue of Poseidon Adventure. So you'll never know for sure. Hence my own advice is to buy them as soon as you can.

i think in late days, due to the one day sold outs lately, it forces people to buy sooner, and then more one day sold outs occur. it a vicious circle. in some years we will have to be glued to the computer at the hour or release to be lucky to get one copy...

This is why I request Tuesdays off wherever I work.
Normally Williams takes awhile to sell out, but this is one of his better scores, from a Spielberg film no less. It has popularity on its side. It's the equivalent of say a Jaws 2 release or something like that.

This has certainly been on my Grail list for about 20 years, long before the isolated score was available.

more, because this is a big Williams score in his prime with a ton of unreleased music (sort of) .If Jaws 2 was released, it would be just better sound and 5 minutes of music we don't have

Yes, 1941 is a Titus work
As far as we know they never struck a film print of the extended version
The Hook screening is gonna be - - - wait a second. You trying to trick me?

I wonder if the Hook reference, means the complete score will be released as part of their Black Friday deal the end of the year, to tie into the Blu-Ray release for the film. Since the Blu-Ray release of the film is November 1st.

Based on MV's comments from last year, I am 90% sure that we'll get Hook later this year. Also it would be uncharacteristically cruel of MV to throw out these hints without actually having Hook.

If we got 1941 and Hook this year it would be awesome.
The Williams grail list would be almost reduced to Harry Potter and the Lucasfilm stuff (Prequels, unreleased Indiana Jones)
oh wait now there's Tintin and War Horse

Yes, don't forget all those awesome variations of Tintin's theme that will not be on the CD because there's a 12 minute reprise.

Dracula remastered and maybe expanded would also be most welcome. But I would also take it only remastered.

Definitely NOT good enough for that one. If that happens I'll go on a 10 page freak out rant

But serious, remastered would be better than nothin'. I almost can't listen to it because of the SQ.
